Video Vision InStore
Video Vision InStore is a flexible terminal that can be used in
several ways to promote your rental/sale inventory to your customers.
Customer Terminal
- the main use of Video Vision Instore is as a store front touchscreen
(or mouse) controlled terminal that can be used by customers to
search for rental items or products, view full item details, manage
their wishlist (optional and for rental items only), view their
rental history (optional), see current availabilities (optional),
view promotional movie trailers (optional) and play sample audio
tracks (optional).
Play Promotional Trailers
- an alternate use of Video Vision Instore is as terminal that simply
plays random trailers of your new release movies/games. The module
features a "screen saver" feature that will randomly play
promotional trailers/movies from those that you have specified with
your rental item details in Video Vision Plus or from a specified
folder on the computer's hard drive. Used in this way the terminal
allows you to have a screen in store continually looping promotional
movies to customers - there is no better way to stimulate more rentals/sales!
Item Selection Terminal
- an alternate use of Video Vision Instore for stores that do not
have all their rental inventory out on shelves is a selection terminal.
Customers can browse movies and select those that they wish to take
today by adding them to their wishlist. The selections made by the
customer are then ready for quick processing when the customer proceeds
to the front desk to complete check out.
However it is used Video Vision InStore provides a great way to
motivate customers and promote your rental/sale inventory - your
customers will love it and you'll wonder why you weren't using it
before!

- Customer service - The module allows
customers to easily browse and search your store's rental items
or products (items for sale). This can stimulate extra rentals
as customers find additional items by their favorite actor/director/game
studio/artist. It also provides an incomparable customer experience
that will keep you one step ahead of the competition.
- Easy use interface - To help customers
use Video Vision Instore the program has been designed with an
attractive easy to use interface - in this way customers can feel
at ease using the terminal within a matter of moments. Usage is
even easier when the program is used on a touchscreen. Easily
accessible on screen help is also available for each screen to
give further explanation where required.
Video Vision InStore
- Flash based welcome screen - An eye
catching welcome screen will attract customers to your InStore
terminal. Click the image below to load a real-size preview of
this screen.
- Touchscreen/Mouse compatible - For
the ultimate customer experience, Video Vision InStore is designed
to be used with a touchscreen monitor or a kiosk terminal with
touchscreen. However, it can also be used on a standard screen controlled
by mouse clicks only.
- Search - Searches are available
either on item name or alternatively on all principal item information
allowing customers to easily locate and view items by inputting
just part of an item's title/actor/director/videogame series/etc.
- Browse items - Customers may also
browse items by Genre. The Genres displayed (and the images presented
alongside the genre) are flexibly configurable by using the InStore
Configuration Utility.
- View New Releases/Coming Soon items -
Special browse categories allow customers to view all the store's
new rental releases or rental items with status 'Coming Soon'
that are not yet available on the shelf (like all browse categories these can
be hidden if not required).
- Easy navigation through result sets with
item format displayed - When displaying search results
or browsing the appropriate items are displayed in groups of ten
items with easy navigation through additional items. The format
of the item can also be displayed alongside the item name (optional).
- View full item details
- After searching/browsing the customer may select from the search
results presented and view full item details*. Details available
for viewing include an image of the item, the synopsis/item description,
the location of the item within your store (optional) and the
item's availability (optional). The labels shown for the item
are fully configurable on a by genre basis in Video Vision Plus
and therefore each distinct type of item (movie, videogame, book,
CD, etc) may be shown with appropriate item labels. This is illustrated
by the sample screens shown for a movie and a game below.
- Barcode scanning - By attaching a barcode reader to an InStore terminal your customers can take a given item to the terminal and scan the barcode to be presented with the full details and multi-media previews (if available) for the item.
- Multi-media previews - When the
appropriate content is available (configured in Video Vision Plus)
customers can view movie trailers for movies and promotional movies
for videogames or other items*. When running Windows XP multiple
file formats are supported including QuickTime Movie (.MOV) and
Windows Media Video (.WMV). On Windows Vista full support is provided
for QuickTime Movies only.
- Full disc music previews - When
the appropriate content is available (configured in Video Vision
Plus) customers can listen to MP3 tracks in an specially designed
user friendly audio file preview screen. This feature makes Video
Vision InStore a fantastic 'listening post' terminal for stores
that also sell CDs*.
- Customer Wishlist management - After logging
in with their secret password, customers
may add and remove items from their own personal Wishlist of items
(rental items only) and thereby quickly access full item details
of any items in their wishlist to check current availability (this
feature may be disabled if required).
- Customer rental history - After logging
in with their secret password, customers may view their full rental
history (this feature is available on terminals configured for
viewing rental items only and may be disabled if required).
- Space saving - The module allows
all items in your inventory to be displayed with full details
- slower items can be available for customers to locate and request
without occupying valuable shelf space.
- Password controlled exit - Video
Vision Instore covers 100% of the screen area and exit from the
module is restricted by password. This features helps prevent
unauthorized access to any other sections of the computer running
InStore.
- On screen help - Whilst the terminal
is intuitive to use at the press of a button customers have access
to full on screen instructions for the individual screen in question.
