The prime development focus of this version was Windows Vista and a large number of behind the scenes changes have been made in order to fully support this version of Windows. Version 9 also offers two new add-on modules - the interface language add-on and the Fingerprint module. Additionally, a number of the most requested features by current Video Vision users have been included.

Full support for Windows Vista

Fingerprint recognition add-on module - a new add-on module offers the possibility of using a digital fingerprint reader for user login and customer verification.

Interface Language add-on module - a new add-on module offers the possibility of having the Video Vision Plus interface in virtually any language.

Product information expanded - the amount of information that can be stored for products has been dramatically increased (mirroring that stored for rental items).

Lookup extended to products - item information lookup using the Collectorz module is now also available for products.

Lookup module expanded to Games, Music and Books - item information lookup is now also available for video games, music and books.

New Item Type field - a new flexibly configurable "Item Type" field has been added for Rental Items and Products allowing grouping of items by major type e.g. Movie, Game, Books, Music, etc. Labels can be set for secondary information allowing labels appropriate to each item type to be displayed in the rental item/product screens.

Flexible configuration of item formats - item formats are no longer limited to DVD, VHS, Game and Other. Formats can now be flexibly configured to allow more precise item format specification and specification of new formats as they become available for rental/sale in your store (e.g. Blu-ray).

Copy details from existing item feature - a new feature has been added to allow key item information to be quickly copied from an existing rental item or product into the add new rental item/add new product screens

Support for specialist barcode printers added to the barcode printing module

Item availability screen enhanced - a number of enhancements including the ability to select the date range for which availability should be shown.

Reservation of items listed as coming soon (for after the release date).

Quick access to the transaction screen from the speed returns screen - double clicking an entry in the speed returns screen opens a new transaction for the customer in question allowing quick payment of late fees/pay on return balances or processing of new rentals/sales.

Named promotions - promotions can now be named allowing easy identification at the time of application.

Separate user privilege added for stock management.

Separate user privilege added for purging item/customer/product data.

Receipt decimals settings - users in countries where the currency has no decimal denominations can now show prices without decimals.

Supplier management screen - a new supplier management screen allows storage of more detailed supplier information and bulk update of all supplier information.

In addition to the date range, time range can now be specified for Summary Revenue reports

Report of automatic rental category changes made.

Option to block transactions when irregularities in the Windows system date are identified.

Option to specify a fixed start date for the top ten rentals calculation.

Import module enhanced - the import module is now included within the main program and also now includes current loans. Additional information (including producer, runtime, studio, language, screen format, item image location, trailer location and whether the item should be shown in InStore/Online) added to rental item imports. The rental item import and product import can now also be used regardless of whether the database already contains rental items/products.
