Summary of Key Enhancements
- Completely redesigned interface with an all new animated welcome screen and general appearance
- Browsing by genre
- Flexible genre image configuration
- Item labels configurable by item type (in conjunction with Video Vision Plus) so that each item type (movies, videogames, music, books, etc) can be shown with appropriate information labels
- Product support - a given InStore terminal can now be used for either rental items OR products (items that are sold)
- Expanded search options - a broader search all item information option has been added allowing the customer to match search terms on all principal item information
- Special coming soon section added for browsing rental items listed as Coming Soon
- Touchscreen usability enhanced
- Media format support extended to include virtually all formats supported by QuickTime and Windows Media Player (NOTE: this applies to Windows XP only - on Windows Vista only QuickTime formats are fully supported).
- Screensaver functionality expanded to allow use of files from a specified folder
- Barcode scanning option - allows customers to scan item barcodes into InStore to see full item details
- Special music 'listening post' functionality added allowing full MP3 preview of all tracks on an item
